Parading Three-as-One

Last night after dinner, my wife, daughter and I circled around the table and knocked out signs for today’s Women’s March in Portsmouth, NH. This is what I came up with:

This Man For Women Everywhere

I will be lost in the crowd today with my sign, of course. But that’s okay. Because I’m mostly interested in being seen by just one person, and that’s my daughter Quetzal. She’s eleven, soon to be twelve. And although I think she well understands already how I feel about women and their place in the world, our parading three-as-one today will be good. I think she’ll remember it.

  1. See you there!

  2. Hurrah for heroic fathers of heroic daughters!

  3. Yes, I think she will remember today, your sign, your presence, your respect, — and just about all of the other days that you and Serita have enabled her to become the person she was always meant to be. I will always remember her face today in this photograph.
